THE EARLY HISTORY |
|
First published in 1997, this booklet was the natural consequence of the research which was undertaken for the booklet on the place names of the parish. As soon as place names are studied, certain facts begin to emerge about the pattern of their history. However, even more questions also begin to pose themselves. In the booklet an attempt is made to answer these, and to build them up into a pattern of the parish's history from the end of the last Ice Age until Mediaeval times. We have a wealth of written records dealing with aspects of the parish's history from about 1300 AD onwards, so that this date seems to be the natural end for this booklet. It may be purchased for £3.00 including postage and packing in the UK and £4 overseas. Cheques can only be accepted in Sterling pounds. All profits go to support the archive. Cheques, payable to Calstock Parish Archive Trust, should be sent with the order to: |
