This group was formed in April 1999, and already has some 150+ members.
It meets on the last Saturday in the Winter months at Albaston Methodist
Chapel to listen to a talk given by one of the group, or a visitor. During
the Summer different visits or field trips are organised.
One of the main functions of the group is to support the
Parish Archive. A Newsletter, called Tamar History, is published three
times a year with reports of recent meetings and a brief look at news
and research. At the moment, membership is £4 per annum (+ £4 post
and packing for overseas members), 50% of the subscriptions being donated
to the Calstock Parish Archive Trust.
Benefits of becoming a member include,
a free copy of the Newsletter three times a year, 50% reduction of entrance
fees to all our activities, free use of the Parish Archive at any of its
normal open sessions.
Copies of some of the back issues of the Tamar
History Newsletter may be purchased.
